Abstract

This study aims to describe the copyright protection of batik motifs in Magetan regency and the way of approval based on Law No. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyrights. The researcher explains about the protection of copyrighted batik motifs that require the creator or copyright observations that have his creation. Copyright explains that the protection of copyright is very important, as this protection relates to moral rights and the economic rights of registering copyright, providing guarantees for obtaining legal force in relation to their work. The results of this study indicate that some craftsmen have registered batik motifs but there are no craftsmen who do not understand the importance of copyright registration. Based on Article 95 paragraph (1) of the Copyright Act, the Copyright Act, can be done to find solutions to settle it, arbitration, or court. Article 95 paragraph (2) and paragraph (3) of the Copyright Law concerning a court discussing settlement of a Copyright is the Commercial Court.
