Abstract
Hemodialysis is a process of removing metabolic waste by a machine. Blood is drawn from blood vessels, bypassing vascular access which will be connected to the hemodialysis machine and giving a sense of discomfort. Hemodialysis device installation procedures cause damage to the skin lining and blood vessels that cause pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of inlet and outlet pain scales in patients with cimino and femoral attached to hemodialysis patients. The population was 176 people with 88 cimino access and 58 femoral access. The sampling method used is non-probability sampling, with the sampling technique that is purposive sampling. The number of samples is 30 respondents with cimino access and 30 respondents with femoral access. Researchers measured the level of pain and validated the level of pain felt by respondents using the Visual Analog Scale and the Wong-Baker FACES Scale. The results showed that there was more male sex with 19 respondents (63.3%) in cimino access. Whereas in femoral access, more women with 16 respondents (53.3%). The age of 51-60 years in cimino access is more when compared to other ages with 10 respondents (33.3%). While the age of 41-60 years in femoral access more with 9 respondents (30.0%). The length of hemodialysis in cimino and femoral access is at most <1 year. Cimino access had 8 respondents (26.7%), while femoral access had 17 respondents (56.7%). The cimino and femoral access pain scale at the time of inlet mostly experienced moderate pain with 16 respondents (53.3%) and 18 respondents (60.0%). Then the cimino and femoral pain scale at the time of the outlet also mostly experienced moderate pain with 17 respondents (56.7%) and 13 respondents (43.3%). Key Words: pain, cimino, femoral
