Abstract
Spiritual Sapta Darma is one of the Kejawen spiritual traditions which was first coined by Hardjosaputro and then taught until after his death on December 16, 1964, This spiritual flow originated from the city of Kediri, East Java. The term Sapta Darma is taken from Javanese, Sapta means Seven and Darma means Sacred Obligation This research focuses more on the uncertainty experienced by new members of PERSADA in Jatisrono Wonogiri. Researchers want to find out how the strategies are used by new PERSADA members to reduce the uncertainty encountered when initially communicating with the coach. Using the theory of reducing uncertainty from Charles Berger. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive method by conducting in-depth interviews with new members of the Sapta Darma Association. this research shows to reduce the sense of uncertainty they use three strategies. First, the active strategy is carried out by new members by seeking information about the first Sapta Darma Unity group. Second, a passive strategy where new members make their first direct observation. New members observe how the coach is when giving directions and explain about the Spirituality of Sapta Darma. by making direct observations the new members will get a specific picture of how the coach gives directions or explanations in conveying within the group. Third, interactive strategies by interacting and communicating directly.
