Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of Corporate Governance to the opportunities for financial distress. Corporate Governance used in this study is the independent commissioner variable. This study also uses other independent variables such as leverage and liquidity. This study uses all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2016 to 2018. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling method with a sample of 49 companies. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis in this study indicate that the KI variable has a significant influence on financial distress, the leverage variable has a significant effect on financial distress, the liquidity variable has no significant effect on financial distress. It is recommended that further research be better if the research adds variables other than independent commissioners, leverage, liquidity in influencing financial distress.
