Abstract

This study aims to determine how the application of the principle of simple justice, fast, and low cost to the handling of criminal cases and obstacles in the implementation of the application of the principle of simple, fast, and low cost in the surakarta district court. the research method in this study through a descriptive empirical juridical approach with data sources consisting of primary data, namely interviews and secondary data, namely primary and secondary legal sources. the method of collecting data through interviews and decision studies as data aides then the data is processed and then analyzed qualitatively. the results of the study indicate that the level of application of simple, fast and light costs in handling criminal cases carried out by the surakarta district court and the obstacles in implementing them. the basis for applying the principle of simple, fast, and low cost in handling criminal cases is the behavior of parties who litigate in the surakarta tistrict court. the obstacles in implementing the principle of simple, fast, and low cost are derived from internal and external factors in the surakarta district court.
