Abstract

ABSTRACT Growth and development are things that can’t be separated but have attachments between one another that is two events of different nature or the so-called growth. Factors affecting the growth and development that heredity and environmental factors. Aspects of personal growth and development is social, language, fine motor and gross motor skills. Gross motor development for children is necessary because the child will learn to move around and control the parts of his body, one of the factors that influence the gross motor skills is the position of children in the family. To determine the relationship of the position of children in a family with a development of gross motor skills. This research was conducted in PAUD Cahaya Qolbu Klaten district 2019. This type of research is quantitative research with cross sectional approach. The population of this study was toddler age children (1-5 years), the respondent amounted to 32 respondents with 15 respondents have siblings and 17 respondents only child, in this study the sampling technique using total sampling. Data collection tools using DDST sheet. Data were analyzed using chi-square method. Researchers obtained results that there is a relationship between the position of children in the family with toddlers motor development, p-value 0.039. From the results of this study parents are expected to be able to improve the monitoring of early detection of growth and development with toodler and stimulate the development of children.
