Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of guitar crafts in Sukoharjo Regency boost both income and employment figures for entrepreneurs and local communities. Guitar craft center support government efforts to reduce unemployment. Efficient management of inputs for the guitar craft center will optimize output and help sustain this useful business. This study aims to analyze the efficiency level of Guitar Craft MSMEs in Sukoharjo Regency through efficient input and output variables. This research aims at the right solution to improve inefficient business units. Input variables include raw material costs, fixed costs and direct labor costs. Output variables include total product sales and net income. This research is quantitative descriptive by involving 20 samples of guitar craft companies in Sukoharjo Regency. This research uses Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The results show that there are 11 inefficient businesses because they have an efficiency value <100% and 9 efficient businesses because they have an efficiency value of 100%. The most inefficient input variable among 11 inefficient business is fixed costs with the smallest average efficiency value, while the most inefficient output variable is net income. An efficient guitar craft business must maintain optimal input variables and increase business output. Inefficient guitar craft business needs to refer to benchmarking for input efficiency in producing better business output.
