Abstract

Matahari Plaza is the first and largest mall in the city of Klaten. Began operating in 1995 until now even the solar plaza is still in use. In the sun plaza area there are also supporting buildings such as terminals and traditional markets. For the traditional market which is close to the plaza, it was established earlier than the plaza that was built in 1950 and until now there is still a market, even the government built the plaza next to the traditional market itself. The government actually wants to make the area the largest shopping center in the city of Klaten. Therefore the government built 2 shopping centers by mixing traditional market culture and malls with different generations. Because the government wants to facilitate citizens with their shopping habits using traditional markets and malls. Because the economy of Klaten residents can also be said to be the lower middle class, therefore the government provides a traditional market alongside the mall. Building a mall with a lower middle economy because the government wants to increase the economy and follow the modern style. The government's plan to build a shopping center in the city of Klaten had indeed been achieved in 1995 with the establishment of the Klaten Sun Plaza.
