Abstract
Excavators are heavy equipment used in industry, mining, construction, forestry and agriculture. Swing on the excavator is a useful component to move upperstructur unit to rotate by 360o. This analysis aims to determine the working mechanism of each component on the swing motor and the magnitude of the forces that work. Swing motor is a component that converts pressure from main pump to mechanical movement, Swing brake functions to engage and disengage clucth and disk that serves to release cylinder block and lock cylinder block on swing motor, and to prevent the swing from being problematic and avoid damaging its components,the swing uses several valves. The results of the analysis, the forces that work on motor swing like torque of 532,544 Nm obtained mechanical efficiency of 75,87%, flow rate of 0,0283 m3 / minute obtained volumetric efficiency of 60,99%, and overall efficiency in motor swing equal to 68,08%.
