Abstract
Elderly is a group that increases aging and is vulnerable to various problems, especially health problems. Various physical complaints arise, due to a decrease in body function that can cause chronic illness. The elderly who are diagnosed with chronic diseases will be corrected. Anxiety in the elderly is also strengthened by the presence of significant variations in the decline in quality of life. From a preliminary study in the Sangkrah Community Health Center, several elderly people said they were anxious and worried because of a chronic illness that did not recover. This study discusses the relationship between quality of life in the elderly diagnosed with chronic diseases in the Sangkrah Community Health Center. This research is a correlational study with cross sectional design. The research sample of 84 elderly people using proportional random sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire and compiled with the Spearman rank test. The research results obtained R = -0.551 (p-value = 0.001), so H0 is rejected. Conclusions (1) remind most of the elderly are moderate, (2) the quality of life of the elderly is low, and (3) related to the relationship between the level of comfort with the quality of life of the elderly in the Work Area of the Sangkrah Health Center.
