Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of principals in the development of teacher professionalism in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura, as well as describing the obstacles of principals in the development of teacher professionalism. This research is a qualitative research that is research that produces descriptive data in the form of written words and also spoken from people and observable behavior. By using data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. So it gets to the conclusion that, the management of school principals in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura carries out management functions namely planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising. And do what has been done both in the form of training that is mandatory from related agencies and others that support the principal in the development of teacher professionalism, the obstacles experienced by teachers have not been maximal in utilizing existing facilities as a medium for learning, newly graduated teachers and directly participating in teaching, opportunities that clash for teachers in the development of professionalism, teachers who are often late and lack discipline, the quality and quality of teachers as professional teachers.
