Abstract

ABSTRACT Curriculum development must take a number of ways at least by formulating an education vision and mission clearly and based on both vision and mission, thus competing standard competencies can accommodate the needs of several parties without forgetting the past. The 2013 curriculum is a curriculum construction that integrates 2 major frameworks, namely competency and character in students. In the framework of developing and improving the quality of learning, certainly the development of curriculum that is used in each school is necessary. This research is expected to provide a clear picture of the development of Islamic education curriculum in MTsN 2 Sukoharjo, which is summarized in the focus of research on what curriculum is used and efforts to develop Islamic religious education curriculum used in this school. And this research aims to explain and describe clearly the curriculum used in the teaching of Islamic religious education and its development efforts in this MTsN. The author uses field research with a qualitative approach. There are 2 data sources in this study, curriculum waka as the primary data source and school documentation as a secondary data source. This study concludes that MTsN 2 Sukoharjo has used the 2013 curriculum since 2016 and made several efforts in its development in classroom learning, namely; conduct training for teachers once a year, conduct teacher learning evaluations once a month, use direct methods in classroom teaching, and maximize the use of pasrana facilities that are already available in schools.
