Abstract
The concept of the Human Digestive System is one of the materials taught in Natural Sciences (IPA) subjects, especially grade VII Middle School (SMP). However, the delivery of material is still done conventionally, meaning the teacher only explains in front of the class and students listen in their respective seats. In addition, the media used are still in the form of books and posters. Therefore it is necessary to make interactive learning media with educational games to support the learning process to be more interesting. The purpose of this study is to design an educational game as an alternative media to teach the material of the human digestive system in natural science subjects. The development method uses Research and Development (R&D), with the model stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE). The trial was conducted on 34 students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Ngemplak. The trial was conducted in one class group and obtained responses from participants through pre-test post-test. Conventional learning obtained an average of pretest test results of 57.6% while after using game media obtained an average of posttest results of 68.5%. Game-based media also received ratings from media experts who scored an average of 97% and material experts rated an average of 88%. So it can be concluded the results in this study deserve to be used as learning media on the material of the human digestive system. The existence of game-based learning media is expected to be a reference for the creation of more interesting and innovative learning media.
