Abstract

Introduction : Knowledge is able to direct mothers to monitor the growth and development of toddlers by providing balanced food that is appropriate to the nutritional needs of these toddlers. Increasing the knowledge of toddlers mothers can be improved by providing nutrition education, carried out by counseling using flipchart media. Flipbacks are sheet-shaped media resembles a calendar containing an image behind which contains information about an image. Fruit and vegetable intake of 96.04 grams / day is lower than the WHO standard of 300 grams /day. Objective : This study was to determine the effect of counseling on fruit and vegetable consumption with flipchart media on the knowledge of toddler mothers and toddler behavior in Mudal Village, Boyolali District, Boyolali District. Results : This type of research is a quantitative quasi experimental research. The design of this study was one group pretest posttest design. Consists of 36 samples, with Proposional random sampling technique. Knowledge pretest and posttest data were taken using a knowledge questionnaire of 20 question items, pretest taken 15 minutes before counseling and posttest taken 1 week after counseling for behavioral data taken using semi-quantitative FFQ pretest taken before fruit and vegetable counseling and posttest taken 1 month after counseling with flipchart media. The interventions carried out were counseling with flip sheet media for 30 minutes. Data analysis using the Wilcoxson Test. Conclusion : There is an influence of counseling about fruit and vegetable consumption with flipchart media on toddler mother's knowledge and toddler behavior
