Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the application of the appropriate Marketing Communication Strategy steps in the Surakarta Palace in attracting the interest of domestic tourist visits. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The informants consisted of Keraton managers and the Head of the City of Tourism Destination and Industry Division. Data sources used in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Surakarta Keraton internal party has taken marketing communication strategy steps and has the support of an external party, the Surakarta City Tourism Office. The marketing communication strategies undertaken include advertising (sales), sales promotion, personal selling, public relations and direct selling. Marketing communication strategy that contributes significantly to the interests of tourist visits is to carry out a public relations strategy through the implementation of routine palace events and is proven to be able to increase the number of tourists who come to visit.
