Abstract
Glass Noodle making industry in Manjung Village, Ngawen District, Klaten Regency, has existed since the 1950s. Started by a person named Slamet somo suwito, he was the founder of the first glass noodle factory in Manjung Village. Since then, the local people have started to try to open their own glass noodles factory. As time went on, the demand for glass noodles decreased and caused many entrepreneurs to go out of business. Difficulties and challenges faced by entrepreneurs are all the same nothing different. Labor and raw materials that are increasingly difficult to find is a difficulty that must be faced by every entrepreneur. The purpose of this study: (1) Determine the characteristics of the vermicelli entrepreneurs in Manjung Village. (2) Knowing the sustainability of the vermicelli industry in Manjung Village. (3) Knowing the strategies that must be taken to be able to maintain the vermicelli industry. The sampling technique used in this method uses Purpossive Sampling including nonrandom sampling techniques where the sampling process is based on considerations and special characteristics that have been known previously. Data collection methods in this study used interviews with questionnaires. Data processing techniques using editing, coding, tabulation. The results of this study are in the form of (1) Characteristics of mi vermicelli entrepreneurs, generally male, education is only reached until high school, the beginning of the business around the 1970s only continued the business of parents, the initial capital of all business entrepreneurs came from loans, raw materials came from places the same is Bendo Village, Tulung Subdistrict, less than 10 workers. (2) The sustainability of the vermicelli industry in Manjung Village is influenced by labor which is now very rarely found for people who want to work as vermicelli makers because there are many more young people choosing to work in a factory rather than working as a maker of glass noodles and raw materials that are difficult to find at certain times such as Eid when the number of demand for glass noodles increases but the availability of raw materials is not able to meet production needs. (3) The strategies used to maintain the sustainability of the vermicelli industry using the 4P strategy are: Products need innovation in product packaging to attract buyers, Promotion (promotion) the use of social media such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp etc. to market the product currently is considered the most effective, Place (distribution) The process of distribution can use trains, ships, aircraft and miunun distribution can be marketed even wider, and the price (price) is needed a container to be able to accommodate all entrepreneurs so that the price of glass noodles in each producer is the same.
