Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe 1) Cultivating the character of discipline and hard work through futsal extracurriculars; 2) Constraints and solutions in planting discipline character and hard work through futsal extracurricular activities. Indicators used in the character of discipline, 1) honest, 2) on time, 3) firm, and 4) responsibility. The indicators used in the character of hard work, 1) achieving the goals to be achieved, 2) never give up, and 3) do not easily give up facing problems. This type of research is in the form of descriptive qualitative. Data collection used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. Observation and interview methods are used to collect data on the cultivation of discipline and hard work through futsal extracurricular activities. In addition, documentation is used to confirm data that has been collected through observation and interviews. The instruments in this study were observation guidelines for the observation method, interview guidelines for the interview method, photo documents for the documentation method. Data analysis was performed by applying an interactive analysis model. The validity of the data is done by source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of this study 1) through futsal extracurricular, instilled about the character of discipline and hard work such as arriving on time, having a sense of responsibility, when not being able to come or being late for permission first, continuing to practice with enthusiasm, having high motivation, and abstinence surrender; 2) The constraints of instilling discipline and hard work are that children come late or not ontime during the training schedule, children give up easily when practicing, the solution is to change the child's mindset and provide direction and motivation for the child to continue to work optimally when practicing.
