Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe curriculum management and learning of archival subjects in SMK Batik 2 Surakarta starting (1) curriculum preparation (2) organizing subject teachers (3) implementing archival learning (4) evaluating learning implementation. This type of research is qualitative. with ethnographic approach. The subjects of the study were the school principal, deputy school principal in the curriculum, and the archival subject teacher. Data collection methods for in-depth interviews, observation and documentation, data analysis techniques use interactive analysis. Research results (1) Curriculum preparation begins with work meetings, school principals and curriculum representatives compile the 2013 curriculum for the next year including lesson schedules, academic calendars, and other school activities. (2) The organization of subject teachers is the responsibility of the school principal. Recruitment in general through a selection test while the recruitment requirements of archival subject teachers are able to speak Arabic both oral and written, minimum S1 education, linear teaching with competence. To improve competence, teachers receive mentoring from the school principal, attend training and workshops and after that obtain a certificate. (3) The implementation of archival subject learning is the implementation of the curriculum in the classroom. The implementation of learning includes learning objectives, learning materials, learning media, learning methods. (4) Evaluation of the implementation of learning is carried out in the form of instructional supervision by the school principal at the end of each semester, and the implementation of teacher supervision is provided with assistance from the principal and is given the opportunity to participate in training and workshop.
