Abstract

This study aims to describe the formation of disciplinary characters and responsibilities of Scout member students, along with the constraints and solutions. This research was conducted in Scouting activities at SMP Negeri 1 Teras, with the data collection method using interviews, observation, and documentation. The indicators used are present on time, do the tasks according to the specified time, obey the rules, follow all learning, follow the procedure of learning activities, participate actively in Scouting activities, do assignments and work well, do group assignments together, be responsible responsible for every action, and not littering (loving the environment). Data analysis techniques in this study used triangulation of data collection techniques and data sources. The results of the study illustrate that the formation of disciplinary characters and responsibilities in the Scouting activities members have implemented present on time during routine training, doing assignments on time, obeying school rules, following the entire series of Scout activities, following the procedure of activities summarized in the Scouting method, the role as well as being active in Scouting activities, doing tasks and work well and seriously, doing group assignments together with other friends, willing to be responsible for all actions that have been made, and throwing sapah in its place and protecting the environment. Thus the formation of the character of discipline and responsibility can work well. But encountered obstacles including some members who were present on time or not late, lazy in doing their jobs, did not obey the school rules, did not want to follow the whole series of Scouting activities, did not implement Scouting methods, passive members, underestimated tasks, talked alone with friends when working in groups, and do not want to receive sanctions. The solution to overcome these obstacles is by giving sanctions to members who are not present on time or late, monitoring members while doing their work, and giving encouragement and motivation, giving reprimand to members who are lazy, giving punishment to members who violate school rules , reprimand members who do not want to follow the whole series of Scouting activities, give orders to the shelter council to help coordinate female members, hold Persami to strengthen friendship between members, order members to practice the Dasa Darma value, reprimand members who do not want to do group work together- the same, and give punishment to members for taking responsibility for their actions.
