Abstract

Indonesia's balance of payments plays a very important role in managing Indonesia's macroeconomy, in addition to being used as a barometer in measuring the ability of the national economy to sustain international transactions. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar (exchange rate), the BI Rate, inflation and national income growth (GPDB) on the current account deficit in Indonesia in 1990-2012. This analysis uses the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) analysis method. Based on the results of the analysis, The Exchange Rate and National Income Growth (GPDB) variable has a positive and significant effect, while the BI Rate and Inflation variable does not have a significant effect on the Current Account Balance in Indonesia.
