Abstract

ABSTRACT With the development of the world of education which is marked by the number of schools both public and private, unconsciously a competitiveness between schools appears. In response to this, the school principals at MTs Madrasatul Qur’an Al-Mutawasithoh (MQW) carried out a number of strategies in an effort to realize a school that had competitiveness. The success of the strategy carried out by the principal is proven by the outputs produced. Researchers examined the strategies used by principals in MTs Madrasatul Qur'an Al-Mutawasithoh aimed to find out what efforts were made by principals to create a competitive school. It also describes the output (output) produced as a form of school that has competitiveness. This research is a type of qualitative research in the form of field research in MTs Madrasatul Qur'an Al-Mutawasithoh. Data collection techniques used by researchers namely by observation, interviews and documentation. While the data analysis uses the method of analysis of the Miles and Huberman versions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the principal's strategy at MTs Madrasatul Qur'an Al-Mutawasithoh, among others; improve the curriculum that is set in the form of an integrated curriculum, empowering human resources with a variety of activities both in schools and foundations, continuously fulfilling facilities and infrastructure as well as empowering school committees. The output produced by MTs Madrasatul Qur'an Al-Mutawasithoh in general has fulfilled what has been the target of school graduates who have been formulated, one of which is that students have memorized 15 juz of the Qur'an. In addition students also have advantages in the academic, non-academic and skills fields. Keywords: principal strategy, competitive schools, output
