Abstract

A study of the effect of preheating on permanent molds on the distribution of hardness with gray cast iron material was carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of gray cast iron material at several points determined to support the study of the effect of preheating on permanent molds on microstructure using the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) method. SEM with TESCAN VEGA3. The test sample used was Grinding cyl with gray cast iron material after preheating at temperatures of 100˚C, 200˚C and 300˚C.
