Abstract

The question in this study is the low interest of students in reading which is marked by the low ability to read comprehension in students. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of learning models to make a match and the learning model of talking sticks effective on the ability to read comprehension in Indonesian language learning grade III SDN Plumbon 1. This research is a quantitative study. This research was conducted at Plumbon 1 Elementary School in class 3 of 2018/2019 school year. The research sample used was class III The data analysis technique used was the normality test and homogeneity test using the formula "t". He results showed that the results of reading comprehension skills taught with the make a match model and the talking stick learning model were higher than the results of reading 2 comprehension skills with conventional models. Statistical test results show the results of students' reading comprehension ability with make a match learning model is pretest at 65.1 and posttest at 80.6 while student learning outcomes using conventional models are pretest at 58.6 and posttest at 73.6. On the results of reading comprehension, students' reading comprehension with talking stick learning model is pretest at 65.2 and posttest at 81.1 while student learning outcomes using conventional models are pretest at 58.6 and posttest at 73.6. mossel learning to make a match was obtained t_count> t_table which was 4.451> 1.671 while in the talking stick learning model t_count> ttable was 4.425> 1.671 with a significant level of 95% and α = 0.05. This means that the hypothesis in this study was accepted and it was stated that the make a match learning model and the talking stick learning model were effective against reading comprehension skills in Indonesian language learning for third grade students of Plumbon 1 Elementary School.
