Abstract
Laundry waste water causes environmental degradation as it. Waste water contains Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Phosphate. COD measurements are carried out because in organic matter materials are often found which cannot be biodegradable and can only be decomposed chemically. Whereas phosphate presents in significant quantities in the effluent of domestic wastewater treatment. Chitosan is modified with pectin as an adsorbent with the aim to improve the ability of adsorption. Its form of chitosan-pectin gel solution with mass variation in units of gram is 2:6; 3:6; 4:6; 5:6; 6:6 (chitosan : pectin), and the time variation of laundry waste treatment is 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes. Based on the research has been done, the highest COD absorbance result is 0.137 with a COD concentration of 154,0054 mg/L. Whereas the highest absorbance of PO4 is 0.109 and removal of PO4 concentration of 0.1754 mg/L.
