Abstract
Agricultural land becomes important for the sustainability of an agricultural activity. Along with the increase in population will be followed by an increase in needs, such as the need for easy access to travel from one region to another. in meeting these needs requires the existence of land that is used for development such as toll roads. The existence of the conversion of agricultural land into land for toll road construction indirectly one of which will have an impact on the social and economic conditions of the population who have a livelihood as farm laborers as happened in Ngemplak District. The objectives of this study are: (1) Determine the distribution and size of agricultural land converted into the Solo Ngawi toll road in Ngemplak District (2) Analyze the impact of the conversion of agricultural land into the Solo Ngawi toll road to changes in the socio-economic conditions of farm laborers in Ngemplak District . The research method uses surveys, data collection techniques are surveys and in-depth interviews with residents who have livelihoods as farm laborers with research instruments using GPS, questionnaire sheets, and documentation studies. The sampling method in this study uses Non Probability Sampling with Quota Sampling technique. Data analysis method in this research uses descriptive data analysis method. The results showed that there were 8 villages whose territory experienced conversion of agricultural land with a total area of land converted at 54.78 ha. and there were no significant changes in the social and economic conditions of farm workers after land conversion. This can be seen in social conditions, namely changes in the way of thinking of people who have a livelihood as farm laborers in meeting their daily needs by a difference of 2.78% for primary work and 7.23% for secondary livelihoods, and changes in economic conditions including changes in average the average income earned by residents who have the main livelihood of the population as laborers with a percentage difference of 5.60% and side livelihoods that is equal to 85.07%.
