Abstract
ABSTRACT Two different material welding technology is a part that can not be separated in the world of automotive and aviation construction because the welding of two different materials is the most efficient way to meet the needs of manufacturers or Consumer. Brazing is one of the alternative process of connection for metals that have low weld properties because liquefaction occurs only in the filler metal. Filler metal that is shaped as a wire rod is used by the welder. In this research in addition to using wire-shaped filler metal also added powder-shaped filler metal. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of copper powder fillers on the power of lap joint joints in aluminium and stainless steel materials. In this study the methods used for the testing process were chemical composition tests, tensile testing, hardness testing and Microphoto test. Based on the results of studies that have been conducted showed that the aluminium material contains some high enough composition of aluminum (89.2%), iron (0.4491%), silicon (0.1907%), copper (0.0603%), manganese (0.0484%), and Magnesium (0.0127 %) While the stainless steel material contains Cr (18-20%), Fe (66,3-74), Mn (< = 2%), Ni (8.0-10.5%,) P (< = 0,045%), Si (< = 1.0%), S (< = 0.30%). The highest tensile strength occurs in the connection with the addition of copper powder filler with a value of 10,901 MPa and the tensile strength on the connection without additional copper powder filler of 10,805 MPa. The micro structure at the aluminum and Alusol connection limits occur in excellent connection, whereas in the boundary of the Alusol and stainless steel joints There is an intermetallic Iktan. In the hardness test the highest value of violence in the Nugget area in the give pillows copper powder filler is 49.6 vhn while the value of hardness in the Nugget area without additional copper powder is 50.8 vhn.
