Abstract

Trangkil as one of the centers of salt production in Pati Regency which has a low salt pond area but high production. Development of land potential is needed to support national salt needs by linking the physical aspects of salt pond land suitability. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the suitability of salt ponds, as well as the factors that dominate. This research method is a survey and sampling using a purposive sample. The analysis used is the matching method. The results showed that the suitability of salt ponds in the study area was included in the S3 and N categories. The S3 category (marginal) was in the villages of Kadilangu, Tlutup, Kertomulyo, Guyangan, Sambilawang, and Asempapan. Category N (not suitable) is found in mangrove land which is a conservation area. Dominant factors in the suitability of salt ponds in the study area are soil texture, land slope, distance from the coast, distance from the river, land cover (pond) while the inappropriate factor is land cover (mangrove).
