Abstract

Eni Retno Kusrini / A510150113. APPLICATION OF TEAM TEACHING TO OPTIMIZE LEARNING IN CLASS I OF MUHAMMADIYAH PLUS MALANGJIWAN. Essay. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. May, 2019. This study aims to describe: (1) the application of team teaching to optimize learning, (2) obstacles, (3) solutions. This type of research is qualitative with a case study research design. Data collection techniques using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique is done by triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that: (1) the implementation of team teaching has three stages namely, the planning stage includes the preparation of lesson plans, the determination of methods, learning media together and the division of teacher's tasks into two, namely the core teacher and the accompanying teacher. The implementation phase includes the core teacher and the accompanying teacher both have the role of teaching in the same class, the same time with focus on different subjects. Learning methods and media adapt the situation and conditions of students in the field. There are two evaluation stages namely students through summative and formative tests as well as teacher evaluation through student score results, (2) barriers to the implementation of team teaching, namely teachers lack understanding of some teaching material and differences in character between teachers, (3) The solution that can be applied is deepening material with a lot of reading and exchanging information with other teachers, and communication.
