Abstract
This study is entitled "Analysis of Labor Absorption in the Timber Industry in Ngawi Regency". The purpose is to analyze how much influence the number of industries, the value of production and the level of open unemployment on employment in Ngawi Regency. The dependent variable is labor, while the independent variables include the number of industries, the value of production, and the level of open unemployment. The period used in this study was from 2001 to 2015. The data of this study were secondary data obtained from BPS Ngawi. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis method with ordinary least square (OLS) method to analyze the factors that affect labor absorption in Ngawi Regency. Based on multiple linear regression analysis shows that the normality test is normally distributed. Linearity test used is right or linear. Classical assumptions are no problem in the model except for the independent variable number of industries and the value of production having a relationship or multicollinearity. T test of all variables, namely the number of industries, the value of production, and the level of open unemployment has a significant effect on employment in Ngawi Regency. R2 gets 99.7% which means that variations in employment can be explained by variables of the number of industries, the value of production, and the level of open unemployment, while the remaining 0.3% is explained by other variables or other factors included in the model.
