Abstract

Football is one of the sports that require a structured communication system in its meembers, especially for the coaches to players. The communication in a group of football team takes time and effort until reach the interpersonal communication relationship. When there is the exchange of new coach in PERSIS Solo team, then the coach and players have their own ways to establish the relationship and reduce the uncertainty in the communication. The objectives study of this research is how the process of uncertainty reduction from Agus Yuwono by identifying the type of uncertainty and strategy to reduce that uncertainty. This research using descriptive qualitative method with depth interview and observation to collect the data. The interviewees collection techniques using purposive sampling. Result of this study shows that there are the cognitive uncertainty and behavior uncertanity of coach to players. The coach uses passive strategy by observing the players, active strategy by searching the players’ information, and interactive strategy by communicating to the players directly to reduce the uncertainty in the relationship.
