Abstract
Different instructional media are currently in great demand by students. The comic book sub-chapter of the hydrological cycle related to flooding can be a fun and effective learning media. The purpose of the study was conducted to determine 1) students responses and 2) the level of effectiveness of comic books in the learning process of geography subjects. The benefits of using comic media include developing the ability to become professional educators and the media can be said to be practical. Research uses R&D development and refers to the ADDIE development model (Analysis - Design - Development - Implementation - Evaluation). Subjects in this study class X IPS 2 totaled 35 students as the control class and X IPS 1 totaled 33 students as the experimental class. The research analysis technique was carried out using T-Test. The results showed 1) students responses about the comic media were 96% and the data obtained from 2) the level of effectiveness of the study were the average value of the control class or not using comic media at 66.5 while the scores the average experimental class using comic media was 83.1. From the data obtained, students are interested in comic media and the use of comic media is said to be effective.
