Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of (1) describing character education through scouting activities and (2) describing the driving and inhibiting factors in character education through scouting activities in SD Negeri Limpung 01. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The data validity technique uses source triangulation. Data are analyzed interactively by the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are (1) The characters that appear in scouting activities based on the observation of researchers there are 15 character values, namely: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, love the motherland, friendly / communicative, love peace, care for the environment, care for the social, and other responsibilities besides that the character is also developed in accordance with Dasa Darma Pramuka (2) The implementation of scout activities in Limpung 01 Public Elementary School is inseparable from the so-called driving factors and inhibiting factors. for the encouraging factor that is all parties both teachers, parents, students fully support this scouting activity, whereas for the inhibiting factor is time, much of the same time as the implementation of the scouting time so that the time of scouting activities often clashes with the time of other children's activities outside school like tutoring time, recitation time and so on.
