Abstract
Quality of life is the individual's perception of his position in life, which relates to his ideals, expectations, and views which are multidimensional measurements not limited to the physical and psychological effects of treatment. The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of life in people with diabetes mellitus in the Sukoharjo Health Center area. This research was conducted in March 2019. The number of samples used in this study were 91 respondents. The sampling technique in this study using purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that the respondents were the most with the age group with age between 61-70 years as many as 36 respondents. Based on gender, the highest number of sufferers was 57 respondents. Respondents with the last level of education of high school were respondents with a high quality of life of 16 respondents. Most income-based respondents have income of less than Rp. 1,500,000. The majority of respondents with 1-5 years of suffering had a high quality of life or as many as 23 respondents, while based on the duration of suffering the majority of respondents had suffered DM more than 5 years. Respondents with a history of disease complications, it is known that the majority of respondents with high quality of life were respondents who did not have disease complications as many as 20 respondents. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is no relationship between the quality of life with the characteristics of respondents with diabetes mellitus patients in the Sukoharjo Community Health Center.
