Abstract

The condition of a mental patient causes a family member of the patient to experience psychological pressure so that it can cause anxiety. Anxiety can be a source of clinical problems if it reaches a level of tension that is such that it affects the ability of a person's functioning in daily life, because the person falls into a maladaptive condition characterized by extreme physical and psychological reactions. This type of research is quantitative research that aims to describe the phenomenon of the family anxiety picture of patients whose family members are being treated while undergoing hospitalization. The design or research design used was a univariate descriptive analysis with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were families who had family members who were being hospitalized in a mental hospital while the sample used in this study were 30 samples. The instrument used in this study used a questionnaire and open-ended questions to respondents. Characteristics of family respondents of patients whose family members were hospitalized at the Mental Hospital based on age were known that the most respondents were respondents aged> 55 years. Respondents based on education indicate that the highest education is junior high and respondents based on the type of work indicate that most of the respondents have employment status as entrepreneurs. Based on the results of the study showed that the response of the Malicious Psychological anxiety and Malikik Psychology of patients is the most anxiety picture. In families whose family members are hospitalized at the Mental Hospital.
