Abstract

Principal's strategy is a way or effort of a principal in setting a plan for achieving the goals set in school. Each principal in carrying out his leadership duties must have a method / strategy to be carried out and the strategy may be between one principal and another there are similarities and differences but in essence have the same goal which is to form or realize a quality / superior school. This study aims to describe what kind of strategy possessed by the Darul Ihsan Sragen Middle School principals in improving school quality while describing the process of implementing the strategy carried out by the School Principal in improving the quality of schools in the Darul Ihsan Muhammadiyah Middle School of Sragen. This research is included in qualitative research with the type of field research (Field Research) in SMP DIMSA and using a phenomenological approach, data collection techniques by conducting observations, interviews, and also documentation. The analysis used is by writing or building theory as a basis for thinking and then describing the results of research data and ending with drawing conclusions. Based on research that has been done by researchers, the researchers can conclude that the strategy and strategy implementation process carried out by school principals in an effort to improve the quality of schools can be said to be successful with the evidence that one of them is various achievements both in the academic and non-academic fields and until now SMP DIMSA is still one of the Muhammadiyah-based pesantrendi schools in Sragen regency that is superior and in demand by the community, as evidenced by the always increasing number of students each year.
