Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the ability of mathematical literacy based on PISA questions and explain the effect of learning based on problem solving with the DAPIC problem solving process approach. This type of research is quantitative research. Data collection techniques used consisted of tests, questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis technique used is a comparative experiment.There are three results of the study. One, low mathematical literacy skills based on PISA questions in Muhammadiyah Junior High Scholol 3 Semarangwhich is obtained by the average classical value of 44.8 below the value of 70. Two, There are 3 factors that influence the low level of PISA-based mathematical literacy skills before being subjected to the learning process with the DAPIC approach to problem solving, namely weak understanding of basic mathematics, factors that have not been introduced to PISA-based mathematical questions and students' lack of confidence in solving problem-based math problems PISA.Three, the increase in the value of the PISA-based experimental class after being subjected to the treatment of the learning process with the DAPIC approach to problem solving process compared to the control class using conventional learning with an average comparative test found tmatch = 1.819> ttable = 1.672 and the classical test zhitung = 1.966 > ztabel = 1,645 which means H1 is accepted that the proportion of student literacy skills based on PISA problems using the DAPIC approach to problem solving process reaches more than the conventional control class.
