Abstract

Klaten Regency is an area that has a very strategic location that is located between two major cities, namely Surakarta City and Yogyakarta City, so that in terms of accessibility this district is quite high. Klaten Regency has considerable tourism potential to be developed, including religious tourism. The development of these tourism objects must be adapted to the potential possessed by the tourism object, so that the tour develops well and has a positive impact on the area where the tourism object is located. This study has objectives including; analyze the potential of internal, external and combined religious tourism objects in Klaten Regency and analyze the strategies for developing religious tourism objects in Klaten Regency based on their potential. The method used in this study is the observation method. The population is all religious tourism objects in the form of tombs in Klaten Regency. The data used in this study include primary data and secondary data. Data processing techniques use data compilation, scoring, internal and external class classifications. There are two methods of data analysis used, namely table analysis and SWOT analysis. This research shows that religious tourism objects in Klaten Regency are geographically spread, which are found in different sub-districts. The tomb of Sunan Pandanaran is located in Bayat Subdistrict, Ki Ageng Gribig's Grave is in Jatinom Subdistrict, Ki Ageng Perwito's Grave is in Wonosari Subdistrict, and the Ronggo Wrsito Grave is in Trucuk District. According to the classification of religious tourism objects in Klaten Regency is divided into 3 levels of potential, namely high, medium, and low potential. The majority of the pengkasifikasian combined potential between the internal and external potential of religious tourism objects in Klaten Regency has the same potential, namely entering into the tourism potential is being, and is feasible to be developed. But for the internal and external potential of each religious tourism there are still many that are lacking, for that a strategy is needed to develop these religious tourism objects. Determining the direction of development for religious tourism objects requires a SWOT analysis to be taken into consideration. This SWOT analysis contains the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of each tourist attraction.
