Abstract

This study aims to determine the Adiwiyata program at SD Negeri 16 Purwodadi, fostering environmental care characters through the Adiwiyata program at SD Negeri 16 Purwodadi, supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing coaching, as well as solutions in overcoming obstacles in coaching at SD Negeri 16 Purwodadi. Type of qualitative research with a phenomenological design. Data collection uses interviews, observation and documentation. The data of this study are primary and secondary data processed using analytical techniques with steps of data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results showed that: 1) SD Negeri 16 Purwodadi had fulfilled 4 components as an Adiwiyata school, namely the development of environmentally friendly school policies, the development of an environment-based curriculum, the development of participatory-based environmental activities, the development of environmentally friendly schools. 2) Fostering the character of caring for the environment is done by: integrating values ​​and characters in learning, planting positive values ​​that are instilled by all school members, habituation, creating a character atmosphere, acculturation. 3) There are supporting and inhibiting factors in fostering the character of caring for the environment, namely: involvement of student guardians, environmentally friendly infrastructure, routine activities, while the inhibiting factors are students' self-awareness. 4) The solution to overcome the obstacles of fostering the character of environmental care namely: instilling the habit of caring and cultured the environment, waste management to the fullest.
