Abstract

Teenegers who as a drug users mostly using coping that focus on emotional in facing of crisis, so that this study aiming are knowing the relation between coping stress with conformity on drug users in penitentiary. The method of collecting data used is quantitative with measurement of coping stress scale and conformity. Population on this study is prisoners of drug user in the prison class 1 Surakarta City as much 50 prisoners. The analytical technic of data which used on this study is Product Moment correlation which calculated using SPSS 16 for windows program. Based on analytical data product moment result obtained coefficient correlation as much 0.028 with sig. (p) as much as 0.028 (p < 0.05) which means there is positive relation that very significant between coping strees with conformity on drug users. Coping stress variable obtained by Empirical Mean (EM) as much 83.8 and Hypothetical Mean (HM) as much 7.8, meanwhile analysis result from conformity variable obtained by Empirical Mean (EM) as much 30.12 and Hypothetical Mean (HM) as much 28. The conclusion of this study is there is positive relation which is very significant between coping stress to conformity on drug users. Keywords: coping stress, conformity, drug users
