Abstract
The bullying treatment causes victims to be uncomfortable in getting along, angry, hurt, embarrassed, not confident even as if the victim is helpless. Bullying has an impact on victims in the form of physical, psychological, social and emotional. Adolescents experience difficulties when adjusting themselves, in order to obtain acceptance from their social environment, then adolescents become not assertive and do not care about their own rights. This research uses phenomenological qualitative methods. This study uses a purposive sampling technique in conducting the selection of informants. The technique used to collect data is semi-structured interviews. Data analysis using content analysis techniques (content analysis) The purpose of this study was to understand and describe assertive behavior in adolescents who are victims of bullying. The results showed that the five informants had assertive behavior that could not refuse when invited to break the rules, did not express honestly in accordance with the feelings of negative or positive, did not have the ability to ask for help, could not start a conversation and reprimand when he was disturbed and not has the nature of initiative. The impact on victims' assertive behavior is decreased self-confidence, where assertive behavior really requires a high level of confidence to express their feelings and deal with the problems experienced by informants received from the perpetrators. As for the positive impact received by one of the informants that he was more to take the initiative to mingle with friends who isolate him. Factors that support and inhibit assertive behavior in adolescent victims of bullying include: self-esteem, weak thinking, parental message/ family environment, concerns about what people think about themselves and culture.
