Abstract
Disasters become one of the events that harm living things both morals and materials. Volcano Eruption is one of disasters that occurred in Sleman Regency, especially in Turi District. To reduce the impact of this disasters the creation of evacuation routes needs to be done. Remote sensing data and geographic information systems are one of the media capable of making evacuation routes. This research was conducted in the Turi District of Sleman Regency to study the effectiveness of the Least Cost Path method. The parameters used in the study are road conditions, road width, road pavement, lane direction, slope, and land use.Processing the data is done in raster form to obtain evacuation routes through calculations on pixel value. The results will be analyzed qualitatively for the effectiveness of the path to the existing evacuation route. Based on the results obtained it can be concluded that the least cost path method has good effectiveness by producing 4 new evacuation routes. The route has a shorter time compared to existing routes and from the other aspects too. Time comparison shows that the time difference is only 3-10 seconds. The condition of the road shows that it have similar conditions.
