Abstract
This study aims to describe the accuracy, effectiveness, constraints, and solutions for the use of the Reading Guide combination of Crossword Puzzle as a model of socializing the values of Indonesian Unity in Pemuda Muhammadiyah and Nasyiatul Aisyiyah in the Polokarto branch of Sukoharjo in 2019. This study used a pre-experimental method with One Group Pretest Posttest design and a sample of 20 people. The sampling technique used is Quota Purposive Random Sampling. Data collection techniques in this study used test, observation, and documentation methods. The validity of this study uses product moment correlation with rough numbers. Reliability uses the Kuder Richardson (KR.20) formula. Data normality in this study uses the Shapiro Wilk test. Analysis of the data in this study used the T-test. The results showed that the t-count was greater than the table, namely 13.076 > 2 2.086 with a significance level of 0.05 and the average pretest score of 8.35 increased to 11.65 at posttest. Based on the results of the two pretest and posttest data are then compared so that the difference value of 3.3 is obtained. Based on these results it can be concluded that the hypothesis proposed by H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there was a difference in understanding the values of the Indonesian Unity after the socialization by using the Reading Guide combination of Crossword Puzzle strategies in Pemuda Muhammadiyah and Nasyiatul Aisyiyah in the Polokarto branch of Sukoharjo in 2019. The difference shows an increase in the average score of understanding the values of the Indonesian Unity from the results of the Pretest and Posttest.
