Abstract

This study entitled “Analysis of the Influence of the Development of SMEs on Economic Growth in Indonesia in 1997-2017”. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are one of the fields that make a significant contribution in spurring economic growth in Indonesia due to the absorption of SMEs to a very large workforce and contribute positively to GDP. But in reality the MSMEs still experience various obstacles in the internal and external fields. This study aims to analyze the influence of the development of small and medium Enterprise (SME) to economic growth in Indonesia period 1997-2017. The method used in analyzing is the OLS (Ordinary Least Square) estimation method. The data used were the secondary from the GDP of SME, Labours of SME, Exports of SME, The number of units of SME, Investment of SME during 1997-2017 obtained from Badan Pusat Statistik. The results of this study indicate that the independent variables that have a significant influence are the variables of the Labor of SME, Export of SME, and Investment of SME. From this study the most dominant variable affecting GDP is the labor variable. This is in accordance with the theory that the less unemployment means the rate of economic growth seen from the formation of GDP will increase.
