Abstract
The frequently increasing of urban growth could not be avoided. That growth potentially caused many problems if the development equity of the region could not be reached. The Jombang District belonged to Strategic Development Region (WPS) GERMAKERTOSUSILA Plus. The good growth as an equity factor of over the region could influence it to be the center of growth. The research aimed not only to determine where the center of public activity was, but also to analyze interregional pull factor and to determine the basis of economic sector and nonbasis of economic sector using samples total of 21 subdistricts. The research used 3 methods. First, it used scalogram method by hierarchy basis for each region. Second, it used gravitation method by pull factor by each subdistrict. Third, it used Location Quotients method by using basis of economic sector and non-basis of economic sector for each subdistrict of Jombang District. The results showed that there were 8 subdistricts of Jombang District potentially being the center of growth including Diwek, Gudo, Jombang, Mojoagung, Mojowarno, Ngoro, Peterongan, and Ploso. Meanwhile, there were the less developed subdistricts including Wonosalam , Kabuh and Bareng. Both Jombang Subdistrict and Diwek Subdistrict belonged to the regions which had the strongest interregional pull factor. The subdistrict belonged to the regions having the weakest interregional pull factor were Kabuh, Kudu, Ngusikan, and Wonosalam. Jombang subdistrict had 10 sectors of economic basis. It was followed by Ploso subdistrict and Megaluh subdistrict which had 9 sectors of economic basis, respectively. For the basic economic categories that are evenly distributed are agriculture, mining, construction, real estate, education services, health and social services.
