Abstract

This study aims to find out which affects the unemployment rate in Central Java Province in 2011-2015. In this study the factors that influence the unemployment rate include Education Levels, Wages, Inflation and Economic Growth. The research method used is panel data regression method. Panel data is a combination of time series data and cross section data, in using panel data models that are feasible to use for the final estimation, namely Fixed Effect Model. The test results between Fixed Effect Model and Random Effect Model using Chow Test and Hausman Test. Based on the results of the validity test (t test) at a significant level of α (0.01), the Education Level variable has a significant negative effect and Economic Growth has a significant positive effect, while the Wage and Inflation variables have no significant effect on Unemployment in Central Java Province.
