Abstract
Happiness is the source of the coveted life satisfaction of all people including adolescents, but the existence of divorce parents has a negative impact that will affect happiness in adolescents. This study aims to understand and describe the meaning of happiness in adolescents who are divorced. Informants from this study were selected by purposive sampling totaling 5 individuals with the criteria of female adolescents with divorced parents who live in Karisidenan Surakarta, aged ± 12-20 years and willing to become informants by filling out informed consent. Data collection techniques used in this study are semi-structured interviews and data analysis using descriptive narrative analysis techniques. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the picture of the meaning of happiness in adolescents who are victims of divorce in general is that teenagers have a realistic and optimistic life expectancy by trying to forgive and interpret parental divorce positively. Factors that lead to happiness in teenagers who are divorced are friendships, good relationships with family and relationships with stepparents.
