Abstract
This study aims to describe: 1) the successful of the principal's democratic leadership style, 2) the quality of professional teaching staff, 3) the democratic leadership style of the principal in professional teaching quality assurance. this type of research is qualitative research. The technique of collecting data uses observation, interviews and documentation. Informants in this study were school supervisors, school principals and class I, III, IV and V educators. Data were analyzed through data reduction steps, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The technique of checking data uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the study show that: 1) The principal's democratic leadership style has been applied and succeeded, this can be seen from the indicators of achievement: decision making involves all educators. Educators get the same opportunity in channeling their aspirations. The principal delegates tasks to educators, main tasks and non-principal tasks. Educators are given the freedom to carry out their duties. the principal gives direction, motivates support to educators in carrying out work. The principal does not discriminate the ability of the teaching staff. 2) Quality assurance of professional teaching staff has been carried out quite well, this can be demonstrated by educators able to: apply material, structure, concepts, and scientific mindset that supports the subjects taught. Implement standards of competence and basic competencies in the subjects taught, Develop learning materials that are taught creatively. Develop professionalism on an ongoing basis with reflective action. Utilizing science and technology in the process of learning activities. 3) The democratic leadership style of the school principal in the quality assurance of professional educators has been well implemented, the principal always holds meetings / meetings (gatherings) every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and the Friday the relation between learning activities (planning-implementation-evaluation). The principal always asks for advice / input from educators for the smooth running of school events. Give freedom to educators to work with anyone. The principal gives encouragement to educators who carry out tasks and professionalism education. The school principal fully supports the teaching staff to participate in every educational activity.
