Abstract

Osteoarthritis usually occurs in adult patients to the elderly with clinical symptoms of pain in the joints. Inaccurate treatment in osteoarthritis patients can lead to toxicity, undesirable effects and reduced effectiveness of these drugs which can reduce the quality of life of osteoarthritis patients. The purpose of this study is rationality research that can be viewed from the accuracy of the indication, patient, medication, and dosage in osteoarthritis patients in RSUP Outpatient Installation, dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten in 2018. This type of research is non-experimental with retrospective data collection is recording medical record data and samples taken according to inclusion criteria including outpatients diagnosed with osteoartritis and aged >40 years, receiving osteoartritis therapy, and having medical record data complete patient. Data were analyzed descriptively to get a representation of the rationality of osteoartritis in osteoartritis patients. Based on the results of the study on 66 osteoartritis patients at the out patient hospital RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten is meloxicam (36.36%), etorikoksib (21.21%), diclofenac sodium (18.18%), paracetamol and ibuprofen (15.15%), tramadol and methylprednisolone respectively (3,03%), and glucosamine (63.63%). The results obtained on the rationality of osteoartritis treatment showed the right indications (100%), right patients (86,36%), right drugs (100%), and right doses (62,07%).
