Abstract

Tegalwaton Horse Race Arena is often used as a venue for regional and national level competitions. Within a year it can reach seven regional and national competitions held at the Tegalwaton racetrack. But the condition of the facilities is poorly maintained, even lacking some supporting facilities. The Tegalwaton Horse Race Arena is currently only functioned as a venue for competition organizers, even though this area has good tourism potential. This arena is located in Semarang Regency, where Semarang Regency is included in the Joglosemar tourist program. In addition, the Tegalwaton Village is easily accessible from the “Solo-Semarang” Highway and from the “Solo-Semarang” Toll Road. Horse riding is included in one of the good sports according to Islamic law. Caliph Umar bin Khattab may Allah be pleased with him. once suggested "Teach your child to swim, ride, and archery." So practicing riding a horse is one of the most recommended sports of religion. Thus the Tegalwaton Horse Race Arena is needed as the center of competition in Semarang Regency which is not only a competition, but also as an educational tour by adding several supporting facilities. The design is designed based on the “Evaluasi Purna Huni/ EPH” obtained from a survey. In the grand stand, building design using the metaphor method by calculating the length of the roof using the physics formula of the building which can maximaze the comfort of buildings towards the direction of sunlight.
