Abstract
The teacher is a very decisive component in the success of an education because the teacher is the spearhead that deals directly with students as the subject and object of learning. HOT (Higher Order Thinking) consists of analyzing (analyzing, parsing), evaluating (evaluating) and creating (creating), focusing on how the teacher's ability to make test questions in the HOT category based on Bloom's Taxonomy. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of biology teachers in making HOT questions at Muhammadiyah Middle School 04 Sambi, Boyolali 2016/2017 academic year. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The strategy of this study emphasizes the cases that occur in the teacher's teaching process. The technique in collecting data is in the form of interviews and documentation. Based on the results of research conducted at Muhammadiyah Middle School 04 Sambi Boyolali 2016/2017 academic year the suitability of writing a daily question of science subjects in the form of multiple choices was very good, namely 88.11%. The suitability of writing the daily test description questions made by IPA teachers with the rules of writing questions is also very good at 84.10%.
